What is a mini-lesson?
  • Forum for sharing knowledge, between both teacher and students in a collaborative manner. It is not scripted and can help "establish a communal frame of reference" and to "develop vocabulary, criteria, and procedures together" (pg. 150).

Possible concepts to teach a 10-15 mini-lesson:
  • How to address a letter/envelope.
  • Difference between effect and affect.
  • Characteristics of a main character.
  • Capitalization in titles.
  • Principal vs. Principle.
